Most refrigerator smells don't come from one big spill. They come from small drips and forgotten leftovers that sit for weeks. A thorough clean removes them, but a few habits keep them from coming back.
First, do a quick sweep once a week, ideally the night before trash day. Pull out anything past its date and wipe whatever's sticky while it's still fresh. It takes five minutes when you do it weekly.
Second, store raw meat on the bottom shelf, on a plate or in a container. Leaks from packaging are the most common cause of the sticky, smelly mess in crisper drawers.
Third, wipe the door gaskets now and then. Crumbs and residue in the rubber seal can stop the door from closing tightly and hold onto odors.
Finally, schedule a full interior clean a few times a year. Shelves and drawers come out, every surface gets washed, and you start fresh. We can add it to any regular cleaning visit.
